Editors: Safe and Happy Halloween Tips:
Acknowledging the potential dangers this spooky holiday can sometimes present, parents and children should always keep the following tips in mind as they trick or treat.
10 Tips for a Safe and Happy Halloween
Travel only in familiar neighborhoods.
Only stop at houses or apartment buildings that are well lit. Remain on the porch and never enter a person’s house.
Always travel in small groups, accompanied by an adult if under the age of 12.
Avoid very long costumes and oversized shoes, which can easily cause you to trip.
Wear reflective tape on costumes and bags so you are visible to traffic and other trick-or-treaters.
Walk, do not run, from house to house.
Always walk on sidewalks. In neighborhoods with no sidewalks, always walk on the left side of the street, facing traffic.
Always cross streets as a group on established crosswalks.
When possible use makeup instead of masks. Besides being uncomfortable, masks can obstruct a child’s view of traffic, steps, and holiday decorations.
Never eat candy until a parent or responsible adult can inspect it.

Giantmicrobes.com Review & Giveaway~Ends December 17ended
Giantmicrobes sent me one of thier new vinyl figures for review! You can buy the whole set of vinyl figures for $49.95, or $12.95 each, on the GiantMicrobes website!
When we got the package, my daughter saw the mailman drop off the package, so she whined until I opened it! So I did, and inside was "Smooch", the kissing disease, and "Nibble", the bed bug! (the giveaway!) My daughter opened "Smooch" because it's pink..so Nibble is the giveaway! And I will be sending it to the winner! When we opened "Smooch", there was a little flip book, it shows "Smooch" winking at you, and then blowing you a kiss! She also came with a big sticker of herself! The figures come unattatched, you have to put th em together! This is a great way for kids to learn about diseases and sicknesses! When they're having fun, they tend to actually take more in! My daughter loves "Smooch" so much, she even sneaks her into bed with her! (She told me she's soft, cuz she knows I won't let her bring hard toys into bed!)
My daughter carries her little "Smooch" with her in a little purse, and she tells her friends all about the kissing disease too! We love them!!
**Special thanks to Giantmicrobes for sending Nibble for the giveaway and Smooch for the review!**

creativechanges.com Chore Chart Review & Giveaway~Ends December 10ended
Creativechanges sent me a chore kit for review, so I decided to experiment with using a chore chart for my kindergardener. This chore checklist looks like a board game with colorful reusable stickers!
We are using a Create-A-Chart Kit which can be customized: parents can pick out up to 6 tasks from a set of 16 tasks for their child. We picked the tasks of vacuuming, folding laundry, help putting away the dishes, which both kids enjoy doing, and making her bed! Of course I have to make it up again after she's at school, but she feels good to know that she did it all by herself! And it's good practice for her!
The chore lists or jobs to be done are easily assigned because they are printed on static cling vinyl for easy selection of the assignments that best suit your child. Additional chore checklist items can simply be written in with the included write on wipe off crayons.
The colorful matching rainbow stickers make marking the chart fun to see the full rainbow shape as the jobs are completed! Other Creative Changes products include a Potty Chart Family Job Chart, homework chart, and many others. The best thing is that these charts are very affordable. Child’s job chart, for example, costs only $1.95! Check out thier website! The Homework Chart is a must for us!
Create-A-Chart Kit includes:
■1 Create-A-Chart
■1 Set of Reusable Rainbow Stickers
■1 Set of Reusable Job Stickers
■2 Wipe-off Crayons
Creativechanges is giving away one Kit to one lucky reader!

Hearthsong Review & Giveaway~Ends November 26ended
Incred-a-Ball
I am always looking for fun things to do with my daughter to keep her active and having fun. Most kids love to run around and play outside with toys and balls, but how about actually getting inside of a GIANT ball?!
HearthSong is a unique online store that carries toys you'll feel good about giving. I have to tell you I felt like a little kid all over again when they sent me The Great Big Outdoor Playball (GBOB) to review! As soon as the package arrived I rounded up my daughter, and a pump, and we headed out back to try this ball out!
It was very easy to inflate, especially with the Electric pump that is also available for purchase. You just have to find the air opening to each section and put the nozzle inside and it airs up in about 15 seconds.
It does take awhile to inflate, but the kids LOVED watching it "magically" transform from a flat pancake to a Huge Ball. All in all it took me about 20-30 minutes total to blow the whole thing up.
The recommended age is 6 and up, my daughter is 5, but I think It's perfect!
Thanks to HearthSong, we had a great time playing with the GBOB. Some neighbors even came over and played in it too! I can definately see this being a hit at any type of family gathering, like family reunions, BBQ or even birthday's. I can't wait till winter rolls around cause I can see this thing being a blast in the snow too!
Hearthsong has offered to give one of my readers a $50 gift certificate for thier website!
